TOWN HALL AND MEMORIAL PARK TO BE CONSIDERED HISTORIC SITES

Historic Preservation Committee to consider these as historic landmarks Monday night.

MaplewoodTownHall4.jpg"I think it is a good idea to make town hall an historic site," said Mayor Vic De Luca. "The only concern I have is the town's ability to make needed repairs there going forward. Before any final designation, we need to better understand the limits. I think it will all work out but I just want to be sure. With Memorial Park, the same limitation concern exists with the town's ability to do work on the shelter house, skate house and library. I think the Commission is on the right track of preserving our heritage. We just have to work out the fine print."
Any designation, of course, would require Township Committee approval.
